A sky light is basically a window in the ceiling and roof. It allows natural light into a room.
Sky lights can be a plain square of plexiglas or at the other extreme a fancy stained glass dome.
Skylights can add light and beauty to a room, but they also need care and cleaning. They also require cleaning and care to ensure they don't leak or break.
