Personal computers (PC) are for home or personal use, as opposed to servers which process larger, organizational data. A standard PC has a central processing unit (CPU), some random access memory (RAM), a hard drive (storage memory) in a box. This box may also contain (especially for laptops) or be connected by wires (or sometimes wirelessly) to input devices, such as a keyboard, mouse, microphone and possibly a gaming device or other alternative input. Then it has output devices, such as a screen and speakers. Optionally, it may be connected to a printer, the Internet or other networks.
Then PCs have software -- instructions that determine how they behave.
