Natural light, that is sunlight, has several advantages over other forms of light. It covers the spectrum, and it's free. Also, since it doesn't use electric power or involve burning something, it doesn't create pollution. The disadvantage is that it's only available during the day, and can be considerably reduced on cloudy or stormy days.
