a hammer - wooden handle
One of the basic tools that you probably want to keep around your home is a hammer
A basic hammer has a side for pounding (usually nails), a side for removing or pulling nails, and a handle for holding and getting leverage when swinging to pound in a nail. Variations can include the size of the hammer, the length, size and shape of the handle. Instead of a "claw" to help remove nails, some hammers may have a pointed pick on the second end. Hammer handles are frequently made of wood, but can also be made of other materials like plastic or metal.
