Bob Vila has been sharing his expertise on home improvement, maintenance and repair on home care TV shows and his Web site for years. He has hosted various television shows including This Old House, Bob Vila’s Home Again, Bob Vila, and Restore America with Bob Vila. He also hosts the Building Green Web series and has a number of videos on different topics on his Web site. In addition, Mr. Vila has written multiple books about homes -- buying, remodeling and historic homes.
In his earlier career, Bob Vila worked with his father on houses, had his own remodeling and design company and served in the Peace Corp and Habitat for Humanity, building houses. He has studied architecture and journalism. He has lived in Massachusetts, Florida and New York as well as traveling extensively. This experience as well as his interest in historic homes has given him knowledge of a wide range of kinds of homes and design choices.
